Baron Finster
Voice Actor Rob Paulsen
First Appearance Twelve Hundred Degrees Fahrenheit

Baron Finster is a known enemy to Doyle Blackwell. His first appearance was in Twelve Hundred Degrees Fahrenheit.

Baron Finster is a half man/half robotic scorpion that's a big player in the criminal underground that Doyle once claimed to have fought. Doyle rescued a Ngani-Vatu from him. However, this may have just been a story Doyle made up to entertain Zak and his family.

In the episode Van Rook's Apprentice, Doyle hacks into Van Rook's client list and Baron Finster can be seen on the list. This proves that the villain does really exist but it is unknown if Doyle's story about his encounter with him is true. This was so until the episode Cryptid vs. Cryptid where he makes an appearance trying to kill Doyle. He states he could not win on their first encounter and says fate has giving him a second chance. This lends credence to Doyle's story but their first meeting may have been before or after the timeframe of the story.

It is revealed in War of the Cryptids, that Argost designed the robotic scorpion abdomen that'd allow him to walk again. Baron had asked him for his price and it was from him that Argost got money for Weird World from. Baron stated that Argost's compensation for a television show was rather poor since most came to him to rule humanity but Argost explained he had ambition for his show. Finster stated that Argost's first idea was something organic but Finster decided it was too gruesome.

Near the end of the series, he was kidnapped by Munya when Doyle and Van Rook attempt to question him on Argost's past. He was later murdered off screen by Argost.

  • We do not know why he is an enemy of Doyle nor why Doyle does not wear his helmet when he faces him. This is probably because Doyle has not become Van Rook's apprentice yet when he faced him.
  • Jay Stephens has confirmed that Finster was killed by V.V. Argost.
  • He appears as a boss in The Secret Saturdays Beasts of the 5th Sun on level 8 on console but DS versions, he's on world 5. The video game is the only time that Zak has met Baron Finster.
